Japanese Erotic Fantasies in the Edo Period

    <lj:music>Toybox- Tarzan and Jane</lj:music>

Albeit it boring, working in a library has some (very seldom mind you) interesting moments. Like today when I noticed an art book sitting next to my boss's desk entitled "Japanese Erotic Fantasies of the Edo Period." If the title wasn't enough to clue even the thickest in, the cover picture certainly would- a picture of a man fingering a woman. Granted you didn't see the action, but you saw pubes and boobs.
Now, unfortunately or unfortunately, I have the curiosity of a cat. Upon perusing through the pages, I have learned a few things:
1. Kimonos are not only fashionable and can shield, but they do provide good services in the Bedroom.
2. This was on the level of kama sutra minus much of the nudity and jewelry.
3. Their hair stayed dead in tact.
4. These Japanese men were packin. I mean, this was cock and lockheart big (cock and lockheart XDDD best doujin name EVER). It was the most detailed thing on the image (although the style of the paintings made it seem really wrinkly), colored differently and everything!!

What I thought was really weird was how the chick during intercourse would be totally expressionless and would lay/sit/bend over/flip/etc and just take it while the guy had some perverse demonic look.

Even weirder, at my second job there was a movie (Japanese also) entitled "Bedroom." (Just to let you guys know, I'm the only girl at my second job, everyone else is 21-26 yr guys) The cover sported a naked Japanese woman holding a knife. The back was even weirder. In one panel, this naked guy was wearing a gas mask and totally gropping this naked chick's ass. The premise of this story: A club was started in which Japanese singles would engage in fetishism with each other, but the male singles would start mutilating and killing the chicks off (homoeroticism anyone??). Kyoko; the heroine, becomes suspicious of her koi, Kei when all the other girls start disappearing... But to discover the truth behind it would be worse than the offense.
I wonder what this horrible truth is... hmmmm..... hummm.....

I should mention that I am in that class too, but that only slightly influenced the time. All the art history classes for lecture have that MW thing, but they differ only by the discussion date.

Giulia, I got your message but I have yet to actually respond as there is no time right now.

And as a side note, I'm dark XDDDD well, darker XD

Going to NJ tomorrow; right after work. Which means fun fun fun in the car! But we are going to the Beach during that time, so I will hopefully darken like the hot non-Brazilian girl that I am XDDDDD
The first hours of drudgery none as work seems to never end. I'm tired of just sitting on my ass and doing secretarial work. My next job is much better as I am able to scrub gross, filthy and overly disgusting book shelves! YAY! But there are people my age (actually older as I am referred to the baby of the group due to my age) who make the work all the better and funner (is that a word??).

Ling, I fixed your schedule so that you now are taking JAPN101 (with me!!) MWF 11-11:50, 12-12:50 with the teacher Anzai. I'm told she's the best and her classes are already full (I believe...)... I got rid of your HIST157 class but that was it. If you still want Art History after 1300 just tell me and I'll get it for you. Other than that I didn't have to change your schedule AT ALL.

I'm glad there's a cap for Otakon this year. Last year was too obnoxious with all those fuckin peoples. Because Ota doesn't have a major band this year hopefully they'll rev up the other con aspects. Yes Ling, I am going as Misamisa and am hoping to do it Friday so that Manba will be on Saturday.

Is there any time too early for you (like 9am)?? I'll try my best to maintain your current schedule, but what do you want to replace Japn101 with? and what times would you like. I have so many blisters on my feet and the worst part is that I was wearing good shoes. Made from leather. Met some cool people tho- none in the business school of course. They were all history/opera/weird liberal arts majors (except for one who was Bio). Go figure.

Just changed my classes for the 80th time. I'm taking Japanese (Kim, what does Staff mean?????? That was the only one I could get...), Rock History, Insect study (mebbe I'll change it.. Any suggestions OTHER than soil, Kim? <lj:music>Utada Hikaru- Tampon... I mean Devil Inside</lj:music>

Orientation for UMCP is tomorrow. You know what that means, Rini will be bitchy and upset for the next few days. Fuckin A. Not only do I have to shlepp clothing, toiletries and a pillow, but now a sleeping bag or taste the indelible wrath of freshman "mattresses."

*sigh* I have to go and *shudder* sleep in a dorm... I'm not cut out for that rugged life style. Hence why I'm living at home. For all of you who do not attend the University, the dorms for freshman are disgusting. No kitchen. No single bathroom. No single room. The room is smaller than my room right now btw.

I think the only thing I regret about not staying in a dorm is the fact that I won't be able to do the crazy dorm activities. Except I think guy dorms are much crazier and wilder in that aspect (my colleagues at work were telling me all of their wonderfully amazing and crazy adventures. Like Hallway Baseball. Ling if you ever do that at your dorm, call me up and I will IMMEDIATELY be there). Other than that, I'm happy not to be there. Sophmore year and later I most likely will live in a dorm or something. I haven't fully decided.

Ling, if I don't talk to you prior to your leaving on Wednesday, have a safe and wonderful trip full of crazyness! I will miss you, but I know you'll have fun in Taiwan, you always do! I most likely will (as I talk to you about everyday) but if I can't get to a computer by Tuesday night, I'll call. What time on Wednesday do you leave? If you want I can send you some REALLY crappy music today that I decided to get out of pure boredom (ie Ashlee Sucksin, Hikki- TAMPON INSIDE, and other crap... although I did get Jamiroquai's Canned Heat- Napoleon Dynamite and I adore that song). I hope you are able to get online occassionally and update me on the wonders of Taiwan. Oh and before I forget, cloud watching from a plane gets tiring after about a half an hour- so be sure to pack wisely for stuff to do on the plane. Email me or something to tell me you arrived safely (I think Giulia and I will have plane anxiety for you XDDDDDDDD).

Hopefully this'll work out. Mebbe if I asked my mumsy reallllly nice, we could have it in my basement, but I don't know how well that'll work.

"You're easy breezy and I'm Japanesey"
Words spoken by a true artist, Utada Hikaru. Because you are in fact easy breezy and she is Japanese...y.

"There's a tampon somewhere deep inside me"
Another truth sung by Ms. Utada. Ok, so the real
word is "devil" but I beseech all of you to go and listen to that track
and tell me to my face that she doesn't say tampon. You will deny it
and say "she says devil" but mark my words, she really says tampon. You
all aren't just listening hard enough.

"Urine Gone"
The bathroom light up cleaner that puts all other
cleaners to shame. Because no other cleaner can not only remove
urine, but do it in the darkest of nights (as shown in the commercial
and goodness knows those never lie)

LOL. These things made my pretty much boring day, a humorous and
not-as-deathly boring day. The even funnier part is, is that I
want those two songs of her's because they are catchy and glorious.....(Devil Insider and Easy Breezy)
A story:
In Germany I got a really nice, even tan. Today I went (almost forced) to go You-Picking with my family at this overly large farm. I, being an occasionally absent-minded person, stupidly forgot to put on sunblock. So when I returned today and looked at myself in the mirror, I had an atrocious farmer's tan. *curses* It wouldn't be so bad if one did not see my bra line....
In an effort to remedy the situation, I went outside, onto my driveway and attempted to diffuse the tan by tanning. Whether this worked, I'm not sure as my eyes have yet to fully return to color. OK that is an exaggeration, but I doubt much occured in the hour I was sunblockless tanning. This only reaffirms my dislike for farms and the fact that I hope to never become and/or marry a farmer.

On a side note:
Thank you Icelandair for being inept, uncouth, sporting the welcoming frown and constantly passing the buck onto someone else. Thank you again.

On another side side note: I finally downloaded all my pictures from my trip... all 300 of them (I think mom had 400)!

I leave tomorrow for home. As much as I loved Germany and wish to remain for longer, I want to go home. Constantly traveling throughout Germany was exhausting and I can't wait for the conveniences of home again. Take-out, better cars (French cars, at least the Peugot, is the uber wussy car. Excelerating was a pain and the car itself was clunky. Wussy ass Frog Car), shops remaining open past 8pm, my own room, Air Conditioning....

Because little Samantha is ill, we have essentially remained within the hotel. I was able to travel on my own to Marienplatz (the main center of Munich. The hotel is located in Shwabbing, 10 minutes by metro away from the main area which is Marienplatz) and buy some FIFA Germany 2006 shirts and a cute H&M top. The H&Ms here are SOOO much better than the ones we get at home- they even have mini thrift stores within them, guaranteeing the funkyness and cuteness of the item.

Tomorrow is once again, plane day. My anxiety isn't as bad, but still somewhat apparent. I should be home around 6/7pm tomorrow which is nice. The 9 hour traveling time, not so much. And I highly doubt that each individual gets there own tv. I just hope that this time we don't watch some retarted 1970s Chevy Chase/Goldie Hawn mystery. Jesus that was awful. 2 hours of Goldie Hawn screaming and Chevy Chase trying to be suave. I think a bear on crack would be slicker. Mmmm crazy gibberish Norwegian-esque Icelandic language that I will no doubt hear all day tomorrow.

It's 2:43 fuckin am. Samantha just threw-up in the hotel room. So far I haven't been able to sleep. Now, I definetly can't. Everyone's up and in a tizzy because she has a fever and really isn't feeling well. Poor baby. Me? I'm groggy and beconing sleep to come, but it won't... And it's not like I napped or woke up late or anything. Samantha is a real trooper- she's not crying or anything. She's just trying to make everything easier by cooperating and not being grumpy.

Smart Car Racing

One of my new life missions: To race with Smart Cars.
For anyone who does not know what a Smart car
is, it's is an itsy bitsy 2 seater that is seen throughout
Europe. I absolutely adore them- they are like toy cars. So
whoever is willing to race those fuckers with me, I would happily
oblige. We would race at the speed of a bicycler!

Went to Neuschwanstein Castle today- the fairy tale castle created by Ludwig II of Bavaria (is that the king who the manga Ludwig
is based off of? Ling, help me out here!) He actually built 3
castles, this one, Linderhof and Hohen-something (which is exactly
opposite of Neusch), but only Linderhoff was finished by the time of
his "mysterious" drowning death in Munich. He had spent all of
Bavaria's money on building those castles and patroning Richard
Wagner. So many of the walls are decorated with Wagnerian opera
(actually most- all of the walls are painted btw). The castle was
built in the style of a 12th century romantic/gothic castle complete
with dragons!

I really wanna buy a German soccer jersey (with Ballack's name
especially) but they are so expensive here- I'm half thinking to go
back to Prague for our $10 jersys. I'm sorry but $70 for a jersey
is a bit much. We already bought so much shit though.... Next
year's FIFA should be damned good tho, with the way many of the teams
are already playing in the prelims...

OH and I'm tanned!! Walking out in the very hot sun (there's a heat
wave in Europe right now) has gotten me darker. Not like a
Brazilian (ie. Fili), but darker than my usual self. One day I'll
get that dark, and when I do- MANBAS HERE I COME!

When one is touring, one notices the many touristy dorks of the
worlds. I'm not saying I'm suave or anything, but at least I
don't bring the fuckin farm with me. They'll bring 3 bottles of
water, billions of hats, 3 cameras, extra clothing (sweaters/jackets in
90 degree weather), food, fans, maps, books, every document they own,
huge backpacks, shoes, you name it they pack it. My favorite is how
everyone takes the same shot at the same time with their cameras.
I also especially like when you are trying to take a photo someone
jumps in and even when you yell/ask at them to move they just move an
inch. Thank you very much for your help. Damnit humans,
stop acting like sheep. Doddling about waiting for something to
happen and constantly asking where to go. That's what signs are
for. I personally think people can be very funny as I have
Shadenfreude.
<lj:music>Brazil vs. Germany</lj:music>

In Germany, there is this kid's show called "Bernd das Brot" and it is one of the greatest kid's shows ever! It's absolutely genius. It's like a German bread puppet's variety hour where they do all these wacky and hilarious things. I love it.

Anyhoo, Ich bin 18! Last year I remember not liking being so old, but now I CAN LEGALLY BUY PORN AND SMOKES! My bday was fine, but because we are out of the country it really doesn't feel like a birthday. I got some really cute clothes and I got to eat at the famous Beer Garden, HofBrauHaus which was really cool. I didn't get a cake or anything, I was told that all the presents and shit are hid away at home. So when I return on the 28th people, I will be present pilfering. You are fore-warned.

Today we were SUPPOSED to go to Neuchwanstein (the fairy tale castle built by Ludwig II) along with his other, Linderhoff (and I think the town of Obermaggau- where fairy tales and pictures are painted on house) but Sam got really sick on the bus just as we were about to leave. What sucked major was that we had to get up extremely early (around 6am- that's extremely early for me) for this damned bus only not to be able to go. So instead we went to the toy museum here, ate yummy cake at this great pastry shop, bought marzipan, and just hung about the city. Germans tend to oversalt their foods (and add MSG) which is upsetting. I've been trying to mainly eat salads as food here can be quite heavy. Overall, I like Munich and Berlin the best out of the German cities we've been to. Munich is MUCH prettier than Berlin though, but Berlin is hipper.

Oh and I hope Germany wins the Soccer game against Brazil! OLAY

Aaaaah, the city of Munchen.... the city I was supposedly conceived in *cries* It's quite nice here, actually. Well, like Lewis Black said, after [so many hours] in coach, any fuckin land mass looks beautiful to me.

Bonn was not a very pretty and/or hip city. The playgrounds there were overrun by druggies and drunkards (one guy actually pissed and shitted in the bushes next to the playground. Lovely) I gave in to the temptation of Gloomy and bought a Gloomy shirt. Although after reading a billion chapters of Bleach (out of boredom really) I really want a Kon shirt or plushie. He is soooo cute, with his pervy attitudes towards chicks (my favorite part was when he was looking at the girls and couldn't remember their names because they didn't have big tits XDD) Went to the Beethovenhaus- the house he was born in and remained in for 3 yrs. The townhouse was quite large for that time, although I don't get German museum organization; instead of organizing the potraits and items by category or year, they just essentially jumbled it all together. Oh and German farmers in markets are cheaters. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! They don't allow people to pick and choose their own fruits from the good pile of fruits located at the front for all to see. Instead they take the smushy, unripe and/or gross fruits from the back or hand you a premade bag. Yes I know, people are not to be trusted, but still. That was fucked up.

Was in the car for about 6 hours today, traveling from Bonn to Munich. On the way to Munich we stopped in Rothenburg- a very picturesque Medieval town. They had a lot of wooden toys and cutesy souveniery things. But like the rest of Germany, everything is under construction, so traveling, sight seeing, and getting around has been strained.

Ozone has a new song!!! *jumps up and down for the crappiness* I wrote it down somewhere, it's something like dripe tine. OH and there is this gross Russian artist named Arsenium who has this AWFUL song, Love me Love me (with a heavy provincial accent). When I return I also want the song, Don't Phunk with my Heart by BEP because it's CONSTANTLY played here and got stuck in my heart. And I like the Robbie Williams pvs, not so much his music.

On an even happier note, I TURN 18 TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! I expect you all to be online tomorrow and ready to talk. I also expect that when I get back that people will go clubbing with me, buy porn with me, along with smokes, and whatever else an 18 yr old can do (I already registered to vote).

Am I the only one that at one stage thought that Germany would be
really high-tec? I find this assumption is greatly exaggerated as not
all hotels have internet access. Case and point: in Meiningen, in the
4-star hotel/castle we stayed in (which was absolutely
wonderful- aside from my tummy sickness. I not only had my OWN
room, BUT it was in a tower, next to the hall of knights, and on a
cliff. BEAT THAT FUCKERS! oh and there was muchly sexiness) they
told me to plug in the phone cord to my computer to see if I
could get a local internet. I do not claim to be any sort
of computer expert, but that sounded kinda off. I tried it
nonetheless, but to no avail. Now I'm in this stuffy ass hotel in
Bonn (you people shouldn't complain about humidity when it's over 90
degrees here AND NO FUCKIN A/C! And they only provided us with one
measely fan the size of a softball) and they say the same thing.
Thankfully my wireless lan found some connection, so I'm mooching off
of another XDDDD The computers, scanners, USB cables, cameras,
etc are also really out of date and clunky. And overly
expensive. Oh well, they have soccer- it more than makes up
for the technological dissapointments.

Went to Cologne the other day (cologne comes from Cologne- who'd a
thunk?) and guess fuckin what? THERE WAS A SOCCER GAME GERMANY v .
TUNISIA. O.M.G. It was beyond awesome. The Tunisian fans kept
running and chanting and waiving the flag around the streets- dancing,
singing the soccer anthem, decked out in all kinds of garbs, you name
it, they did it. The entire German population of Cologne wore
their German National jerseys and getting piss-drunk. If Germany
had lost the game (which they didn't- they totally whipped Tunisia's
ass 3-0) I totally believe there would have been a riot. I love
soccer. :3

Meiningen was nice- their beer was too wheaty for me, but I loved their
klosen (potatoe dumplings). The town itself was quaint and
surrounding by castles. There really wasn't much to do there
tho. The castle that we stayed in fuckin rocked my socks to the
moon. It was so cool- there were secret passages, a believe a
ghost lived there along with buried treasure (as during the 1919
revolution, the Duke who lived there was overthrown but I believe his
treasure could not be found... something along those lines. And
yes, we did look...we were that bored/sad), armor galore and
DRINDLS. They are nowhere near as cute in real life as they are
in pictures. In fact, most are hideous (except if you like the
wench ones)

Bonn is pretty ugly on the outside but ok looking in the extreme
center. All it mainly is, is shopping and a few
restaurants. OMG they had a store that sells GLOOMY BEAR
merchandise!!!! I bought a purse there with Gloomy squishing Pain, it
is sooo cute! I might buy the baby gloomy t-shirt.

Cologne was extremely pretty, but very crowded. The cathedral
located there was humongous. Gorgeous and huge. This
cathedral truly let me know that the Catholic Church is (or was)
swimming in the loot. If one goes to the treasury- there is
nothing but huge rings, pendants, reliquaries, prayer crosses, robes,
etc encrusted in precious jewels and gold.
Again, soccer here rules.
Life Lesson of the day: If you put the < symbol next to the ! symbol
in LJ, LJ will essentially leave out all the following entry. Go
figure. This took me about 2 days to figure out, btw.
~
Last night I had an absolutely awful sleeping experience. In our hotel
suite, I got stuck with the couch-bed contraption, and little did I
know just how fucked up and warped it was. The wooden planks that are
supposed to hold the inch thick mattress look as if a a fat (and by
fat, I mean someone with a lead torso and legs- I doubt this creature
had any arms by the look of the bed) man with tiny feet. Best of all,
wherever there is a metal beam
no plank lies. Making this sleeping arrangement top-notch.
I admit it, I am a Princess on the Pea- shudditup. So sometime
last night, I surmise 3am, I finally had enough of the horrible crick
in my neck and the back pain and opted to sleep on the semen-encrusted
floor. (I would like to, at this time, denote that this is a 4-5
star hotel in Leipzig). I assume my head must have been somewhere
near the cum encrusted carpet because I had smutty dreams the rest of
the night. Or mebbe it's just my pervy instincts *shrugs*. ~
Leipzig is nice, the city is very old and quite interesting. The
Leipzig/Karl Marx Universitat is located here, which brings the
wonderful quirks of college towns. I love college towns btw, so I
can't wait to fully explore College Park when I get back.
Yesterday we went to Bach's old church- where he was the choir
leader. I think his statue was waiting for me to be alone so that
it could smite me for painfully playing his pieces ^.^;; . Bought a
cute pair of funky green sandals for a really cheap price, but I
couldn't afford the Mao bag I so lust for. There is this
punky/funky/hip store (well several) that has some of the cutest
bags. This bag was a mid-sized messenger bag/purse featuring a
cloth patch of Mao along with a blurred face of Mickey Mouse. The
cost? 90Euros. Went shopping at the other funky fresh store, but
as usual my boobs could not fit in them. They were squished *pats
boobs* poor boobies. There was such a cute tank top too, but it
was totally tits-a-poppin when I put it on.
Upon watching the German channel VIVA
this German guy named Wiggie I believe went to Japan, saying that he
was a German ambassador. Upon arriving to Tokyo, this guy has to
complete 10 missions. So what does he do? He dones a sleeping
mask and asks people in engrish to lead him to some capsule hotel near
the Ikeburo (???) station. He also dressed as a Sumo (the fat
suit) and began asking all these random Japanese people in the cells if
they had seen his girlfriend Ursula. My favorite moment was when
he and this random German woman went on a dirty panty hunt. They
went everywhere from arcades to restaurants asking for these dirty
panties (btw neither of them could speak the language). They
finally reach this erotica shop and are lead to the dirty panty aisle
(that's soo gross) and he takes one of them out and swings it around,
smells it, tries to wear it, etc. Another great moment was when he
dressed up as a bear (I assumed) and went to some monkey infested area
asking for wankee monkee. The best part was when he randomly
abducted this Japanese girl from her boyfriend and ran off with her in
the bear suit.
~
Today we went to another pretty Baroque church, and when an organist
began playing the music reverberated across the room in a booming
thunder. That's how you instill religion people. Bought
another pair of very funky shoes (what? I'm a whore for the
funky). This time they were orange and witch-shoey.
We leave for Meinegen tomorrow- to inhabit a CASTLE!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA (go to the Shloss Landsberg one- that's where I'm staying)
Leipzig is interesting, the shopping is much cheaper, lots and lots of good looking college boys (this is a college town btw). There was this one guy who was ALMOST Kayono calibur and as I was about to take a picture my camera DIED. *cries profusely* He was kneeling on his bike smoking, his hair russling in the wind- it was sehr shone. He kept staring at me, which makes me ponder why? Mebbe I had some shit on my face or something, but personally, I believe it was because I kept saying "bush man eyebrows" about this one guy.
I'll update later and everything tomorrow. and shmattas you could buy there was beyond believable. i did not
know this, but door handles are a hot item there- as there are billions
upon billions sold there (the funniest part was that they were still
connected to parts of the doors they came from). didn't have any
WWI helmets (with the pointy thing on top) but plenty of other junk. oh
and LEDERHOSEN >.<;;;;; bought a young pioneers (lenin)

GERMAN DRUNKS ARE THE BEST DRUNKS IN THE WORLD!!!
for dinner, we went to some tapas restaurant, and at the table across
from us there was a bachelor party (that's what daddy said at least)
filled with drunk german guys. how did i know they were drunk? they
were singing that "in the jungle song."
you know the one that goes "in the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion

spanish restaurant. to make matters even worse for our hilarious
drunkards, a woman wearing a sheep/wedding veil (i personally didn't
get it... it was like an icelandic/norwegian hat with the sides that
pull down made out of white wool with a veil attached to the back of
it. to top it off the chick was hooknosed and wore a beer t-shirt) came
and tried to sell some shmattas to them. the guys then said
something that made me laugh out loud- "we won't buy your shit, but if
you dance for us we'll pay you 20Euros." GENIUS. what better way to
spend a bachelor party then to have a chick in a sheep's veil dance for
you. strip clubs canNOT top that. (the sad part is they live in a town
filled with erotic museums, sexkinos, and the like. and what do they
choose? sheep-vail lady) i was waiting for them to sing the

akon- lonely

    <lj:music>german radio</lj:music>

question for all of you in the states: have you been bombarded by a song by a certain artist named Akon called Lonely? if you haven't thankfully heard that song, there is a high-pitched chicken like voice singing the chorus. it is such a pathetic and incoherent song already, the chicken voice just makes it all the better. i totally believe that in the music video a chicken must pop out somewhere- or that jamster company used that song as an ad for their cell phone shit.
ummmm
yesterday i went on one of those berolina sight seeing tours. big fuckin mistake. i shall now immortalize the assholish-ness of this company. first of all, they lied out of their asses when they said that they pick up people within 15 min (of the previous bus) because we waited over 30 when we wanted to see the dinky piece left of the berlin wall (that piece totally immasculated the wall btw. it was so dinky and pathetic. supposedly more of the wall is left somewhere else but in a yucky part XD) the bus was right fuckin there, but it wouldn't let us on (douche bag bus driver) why? because we were 2 seconds late because of a light. and germans do not cross a red light (it's almost a taboooo). so we had to wait 30+ min for the next bus. THEN when we got to the brandenburg gate/reichstag our bus NEVER PICKED US UP! *bastards* we waited 2+hrs for their asses to show, but they never did. so we had to take a taxi all the way back to our hotel where mom then proceeded to the berolina sight seeing stand and demanded our money back (which we did get). but we didn't get home until 3 and we were quite unhappy. but the postdamer platz (with the dinky wall) was really nifty- very high tech with several imaxes, a sony center, the german film institute and very interesting modern architecture (it's very futurasitic). checkpoint charlie (where people from the west got into the east and vice versa) was soo communist memorobilia-y XD we didn't stop though because the lines there were hideously long and waaay too touristy for our tastes. the reichstag is very pretty as was the bradenburg gate. as was the berliner dom. it's sad how over 75% of berlin was destroyed in the war (although from a military and historical perspective it had to be done). i bet berlin was quite beautiful prior to the 50s bullshit construction and architecture.
afterwards we went to a funky italian restaurant which was neat, and i bought a shirt from look 54 (which is a beyond awesome store, and i'm going back! THEY HAD A KILL BILL BERLINER SWEATSHIRT! it looks much cooler than how i piss poorly described it just to let you know)
today we went to shloss charlotenburg. ok, supposedly the 1919 revolution and the war along with the east destruction caused it to look sorta crappy, but i'm keen to believe that the hohenzollerns had bad taste. XDDD it was nothing like peterhoff (the palace of peter the great which was beyond fuckin awesome). it was very plain and boring- not really grandeous at all- although the newer section of the palace was nice.... sorta XD the garden was boring as were the statues. the new pavillion was the same, and unless you have a tour guide you can't see the old apartments. i think they just want us to pay more money in all reality. i was disappointed- although some things about the palace were quite cool- like the lake and its crazy statues, and the general architecture was quite nice. i blame the fuckers who decided to loot and destroy the palace for much of its faults (although so far none can top peterhoff. how genius is it to put trick fountains in the HUGE gardens? peter the great used to hide in them and soak/play tricks on his guests with them. genius. the buildings and gardens were also based off of versailles so you know it's grandeous)
i'm in love with that mr.hai vietnamese restaurant. if you ever go to berlin, go there to eat! it's marvelous (although right now i'm beyond full... they totally made sunflower seed icecream- i don't care what anyone says. that's wha tit was) OH and get the vietnamische eis kaffe- you'll love it!

berlin zoo

went to the berlin zoo today. it's soooooo cute there! i loved the penguins and the baby wolves and the babt giraffe. the rhino was pretty cool too. we looked for a black mamba but none was to be found- instead there were crazy and blind alligators XDDDDD saw another hottie today- actually today i saw quite a few, which made me quite happy (yes giulia i did take pictures). i wish i could go see a soccer game while i'm here- as the berlin club kicks (i actually think the munchen one is better, but that's just me XD) but i'm not sure. instead we may see the most crappiest german musical rendition of the 3 musketeers EVER! i'm excited. cardinal richelieu looks like a fairy XDDDD and the 3 musketeers have torn up clothing XDDD
hopefully i can meet ryan in berlin- going with ones parents constantly is a strain- especially if one's sister and mother aren't feeling particularly well. so hopefully we can just hang, shop and do stuff. i need a friend t____t i love my family and all, but mom can be a little too conservative for my tastes XDDD *i love you anyways mommy*

    <lj:music>some crazy radio music</lj:music>

i think i'm going to cry. berlin is too expensive for me. *curses
loudly* most clothing items here are at least 29Euros- and that was
just for this tiny tiny shirt. imagine what a pair of jeans cost.
what's even weirder is that the only sizes available are 40+ (that's
around a 10 in US sizing). this i don't get because german women are
not fat. so not only can i not afford much of the clothes here,
they don't fit me either. in munich and leipzieg and wherever
else, prices are said to be cheaper so i shall make the majority of my
purchases there. on a plus note, i feel skinny XDDD *sigh*
there was a shirt that i really liked that said "i don't fucken care"
which i thought was brilliant.
didn't do too much today- was stuck at the hotel cuz mom and dad had to
go work (researching and contacting purposes) so i got stuck watching
german mtv 2. not even mtv (as this hotel doesn't have it).
what rini saw on german mtv2
robbie williams is well liked here. i don't care much for his music,
but his music videos are quite intriguing. in this one race car pv he
looks like ewan mcgregor did in big fish.
i blame the side burns... there was also this french chick who sung
techno, and all she really did in the video was get a lap dance by
several people and then make out with this ugly chick. there is also
this song called ich + ich
that germans must be going ape shit over because it is CONSTANTLY
played. it's too crappy and depressing for my tastes.
the rest of the day consisted of eating and walking around. i
must say a beer with a meal really washes the meal down. the
strawberry light beer i had was gooood. XDDDD
still haven't seen dirru... nor many hotties- there were a few, but
they alluded me. just a shit load of student groups (ENOUGH OF
THE EDUMACATION PEOPLE *glares*)

thank you giulia for the continuation of a shit load of smut. kayano is
my hero- her work is simply put, brilliant and i hope all embrace her
like i have. :3333

just to let you all know, as i find this amusing, i am right now
sitting in the hotel lobby in my PJs. the only place i can get a
good connection is here, so i'm here lounging. i think the
manager dislikes me immensely because of it. mebbe i'm scaring
away potential customers XDDDD
